The Satterfield Middle School football program has a new head coach as Carson Hackett was named to that position by Dr. Clint Satterfield, Director of Trousdale County Schools in June.
Hackett is a 2018 graduate of Smith County High School and graduated from Tennessee Tech in 2022 with a degree in physical education. In the fall of 2022, he was an assistant football coach at Gallatin High School and for the past two seasons, he worked as an assistant for Coach Chuck Gentry at Lebanon High School.
Mason Basford, Dustin Dillehay and Dustin Marr will serve as Hackett鈥檚 assistant coaches.
鈥淚 want to thank the coaching staff, administration and Dr. Satterfield for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,鈥 Hackett said. 鈥淚 also would like to thank my wife and family for their endless support in me and the passion I have for football. Go Jackets!鈥
Hackett鈥檚 wife, Emily, is a third grade math teacher at Satterfield Middle School.
Hackett will teach P.E. at the middle school and his Jr. Jackets will take part in the Cumberland Valley Conference Preseason Jamboree at Clay County on Saturday, July 26.
