J.B. Jones, of Lafayette, Tennessee, was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and skilled plumber and electrician, who passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Lafayette, to Jesse and Bessie Cothron Jones June 21, 1933, J.B. married Lucille Perrigo in 1952.
J.B. dedicated his life to his family and his work. A respected member of the community, J.B. worked over six decades for the citizens of Macon County as a plumber and electrician. From his humble upbringing, J.B. was known for his hard-work, reliability and integrity. Whether wiring a new home or business, installing a water heater or switch box, or performing service calls for everyone in the community for miles around, he always brought care to the job and the people he served.Outside of his profession, J.B. dearly loved his family.
He is survived by the wife he cherished, Lucille; his beloved son, Steve; the two grandsons he adored, Hunter and Brent; as well as his granddaughter-in-law, Kathy. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Jones and family; and sister, Juanita Jones Barnsfield and family. His love, whit, and spirit will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
Funeral services for Mr. J.B. Jones were conducted Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from The chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Whittemore officiating, and his grandsons, Brent and Hunter speaking. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jamie Perrigo, Matt Perrigo, Ricky Perrigo, Jason East, Jeff Harper, Troy Brewer, Rick Gann, Jerry Gann and Donnie Gann.
