Weibena Hackett McKee, 91, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William 鈥淏ill鈥 and Jewell Smith Hackett; husband, James McKee; infant son, John Scott McKee; son, Jerry Miles McKee; brother, Oplis Hackett; sister, Spicy (Connie) Dozier; brothers-in-law, Frank (Faye) McKee and Alvin (Billie) McKee; and sisters-in-law, Lucy Hackett, Margaret (M.L.) Kieffer and Mary Frances (Durbon) Crain.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy McKee Hamilton; grandchildren, Keela (Jordan) Johnson and Zia (Q鈥橪on) Maynard; great-grandsons, Zion, Zander, Zayden James and Zeke Johnson; great-granddaughter, Zylah Maynard; brother, Kemmel Hackett; sister-in-law, Susie Hackett Pope; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Mrs. McKee was a member of College Hills Church of Christ. She was the owner of the Handi Market in Gordonsville, Tennessee, for many years and helped her husband, James at their Amoco Service Station. She was an amazing cook that enjoyed perfecting family recipes, experimenting with bold new flavors, and teaching her granddaughters who called her 鈥淢emama鈥 how to bake and cook. Cooking was not just a skill for her; it was her way of expressing love.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at Partlow Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hackett, Tony Hackett, Clay Hudson, Steve Dozier, Q鈥橪on Maynard and Jordan Johnson.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care for many years and especially the last several weeks as her health declined.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery at Attn: Charles Poston, 5247 Big Springs Rd., Lebanon, Tennessee, 37090, in memory of Weibena McKee.
