The Lebanon Police Department is reintroducing bike patrol units throughout the city.
LPD鈥檚 goal is for specially trained officers to engage more closely with the community, increase visibility in high-traffic pedestrian areas such as the Downtown Square and enhance patrol coverage in the city鈥檚 parks, walking trails and special events which close off roadways.
鈥淭his is something we used to have. We鈥檙e excited for it to be back,鈥 Zach Patton, LPD Public Information Officer, said. 鈥淥ur parks are such a valuable asset to our community. [They are] used by people of all ages.鈥
Bike patrols are planned to be out in the city from morning through evening.
鈥淚f you happen to see them out, don鈥檛 be afraid, give them a hello,鈥 Patton said. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e really excited to be out here, and we look forward to continuing our mission to protect and serve this great city we live in.鈥
