Mr. Johnnie Lee Moore, 98, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro.

Born March 28, 1926, in Lebanon, he was a lifelong resident of Wilson County.

He is the son of the late Robert Lee Moore and Jennie Lee Davis Moore.

He was World War II veteran having served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant in Germany from 1944-1946. He retired from Dupont in Old Hickory, Tennessee, in 1984 after working there 30 years. He was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He also served as a  member of the Wilson County Fair Board.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Annie Mae Jackson Moore who passed away Feb. 2, 2015; brother, Robert Glenn Moore; and a sister, Lucille Caruth.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynda (Royce) O’Neal of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandson, Bruce (Tammy) O’Neal, of Madison, Alabama; granddaughter, Roslyn (Todd) Anderson,        of Ackworth, Georgia; and three great- grandchildren, Nolan Anderson, of Ackworth, Claire O’Neal, of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Lucy Anderson, of Ackworth.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Caruth officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time services.

Active pallbearers will be Bruce O’Neal, Todd Anderson, Nolan Anderson, Jimmy Caruth, Mark Caruth and Royce O’Neal.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Hearthside Assisted Living for their wonderful care over the past seven years.
