John Wayne Cunningham, 75, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025.
Funeral services conducted by Bro. Danny Sellars will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2024, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from noon until the time of services.
Pallbearers will be Chad Cunningham, Corey Cunningham, Tommy Kennedy, Will Kennedy, Waylon Kennedy, Caden Baird, Dustyn 鈥淐ody鈥 Gannon, and Tyler Baird.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
John Wayne was born in Lebanon, to Dorothy Helen Thomlinson Cunningham and Dallas Gordon Cunningham.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1970s. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar as part of a band. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church then Mt. Juliet Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Presley Cunningham; parents Dorothy Helen and Dallas Gordon Cunningham; and sister Helen Miller.
He is survived by his children, Tracy (Brandon) Weitzel, Angela (John) Puckett, Robert Birdwell and Chad Shearl; grandchildren, Ashlee Mullins, Kayla Baird, Tyler Baird, Caden Baird, Chloe Weitzel, Dustyn 鈥淐ody鈥 Gannon, Ashley Pucket, Logan Pucket, Steven Birdwell and Presley Birdwell; siblings, Norma Jean 鈥淔uzzy鈥 (Mike) Gregory, Doyle 鈥淏eebo鈥 (Machelle) Cunningham and Teresa (Ron) Robinson; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
